English Bay Couple Session
Tips on Photographing a Beach Session
- Begin shooting 15 mins before the sun is rising or if it's a sunset shoot, start about 30 mins before setting.
- Once the sunshine gets too bright, head to somewhere that has a few trees that can cut some of the strong sun away, still leaving you with that golden light.
- Get sandy! Don't be afraid to get a little dirty. Encourage your couple or family to roll around in the sand. It'll add to the story of the family session or couple session and will give the photos a realistic look rather than staged and perfect.
- When facing your subjects into the sun (when it gets to be a little too bright), have them wear sunglasses. This will hide unwanted shadows in eye-sockets and prevent squinting.
