Crescent Beach in Surrey is one of the lower mainland's nicest beaches. It's a well known spot here around the Vancouver area and can be super busy in the summer. It's tricky to escape the summer crowds here but I've become a wizard at avoiding distractions in the backgrounds of my photos. A few more of my favourite beaches include Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver, White Pine Beach and Rocky Point Park in Port Moody, Blackie Spit in Surrey and North Beach & Alouette Beach in Maple Ridge.
I try and stay away from the beach during mid day (especially on sunny days!). So if you are getting married and are dying for some romantic beach photos, I suggest you aim to do these at sunset or even plan for an after the wedding day shoot so we can choose a time with gorgeous light.

Wedding elopements are so much fun. It is such an intimate way to get married and can be a lot less stressful too! As a wedding photographer, I just love getting inquiries for elopements. We tend to have more time to do couple portraits which is one of my most favourite times during a wedding day. The Fraser Valley has some of the best photography locations where we can make stunning portraits for you to show your family and your friends who couldn't be there. Another amazing factor about having an elopement wedding is being able to have more control over what time of the day we do the bride and groom photos. Photographing a bride and groom at golden hour is hands down the best time for these types of portraits. The photo above showcases a couple eloping at sunset in Langley.
As much as you might not want to at the time, taking an outrageously gorgeous bridal portrait is a must! You have spent oh so much money on your wedding dress, makeup, hair & jewellery that you'll be happy you have a photograph that shows off all of this. I normally like to do this picture right after you've finished getting ready. That way everything is fresh and I get to see the spark of excitement in your eyes because in just minutes you'll be walking down the aisle to marry your best friend!
Rowena's Inn on the River offers nice areas for these types of portraits. The Day Room they have reserved for the bride can make a great spot to capture some lovely images before walking down to your river view ceremony site.
Preparation photos of the bride are some of the most delicate moments of a wedding day. I just love photographing the bride putting on a special piece of jewellery from her grandmother, shedding some tears with her mother or opening a gift up from her groom. These are the moments that bring goosebumps to the surface of my skin.
In this particular photo, Taya is having her maid of honour help her put her shoes on just moments before doing a first look with her soon to be husband. She started to become nervous and get butterflies during this time. She never thought she would feel this way but suddenly was bombarded with all of these feelings that she couldn't control.
I love the getting ready space at this home in Vancouver. It is spacious, simple, and beautifully decorated. The tones of the room are subtle and the window is huge, which provided us with the natural light we needed to get a photograph like this one.

To live near such epic wedding locations like the Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club makes me feel so fortunate. The fact that it's not even an hours drive from Langley makes travelling to this venue a breeze. With 3 ceremony sites to choose from, this location really has something to fit everyones needs.

There is a great chance of rain on your wedding if you choose to get married in Langley, Aldergrove, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows or anywhere on the west coast. This can be an awesome opportunity to create some creative photographs. Langley and the rest of the Fraser Valley offers some beautiful golf courses to get married at, including the Red Woods Golf Course in Langley City, Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club in Pitt Meadows and the Golden Eagle Golf Club in Pitt Meadows.
Maple Ridge has seriously stolen my heart. The beauty here is jaw dropping and is every wedding photographers dream. Whenever I receive an engagement photography or wedding photography inquiry that is in Maple Ridge I want to scream a little. Maple Ridge offers some of the most incredible locations to take photographs. With countless lakes (Whonnock Lake, Mike Lake, Alouette Lake, Loon Lake and Hayward Lake to name a few!), parks (Golden Ears Provincial Park & Whonnock Lake Park are a couple of my favourites) and hikes, no wonder this place is one of the best places to create wedding photographs! Another reason I love Maple Ridge and the surrounding area so much is because the photo locations are endless. It makes sense that so many destination weddings happen at this picturesque place.
If you are engaged and are looking for a Maple Ridge based wedding photographer, head over to Contact and tell me about your wedding dreams. I would love to help make them a reality.

I absolutely love living in Langley. It makes it easy to photograph weddings in Maple Ridge, Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Abbotsford, Aldergrove, Vancouver, Surrey and White Rock. It is also very painless to hop on the ferry and shoot weddings on Vancouver Island, Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast. Langley is such a convenient location because it is so central and as a bonus, it's absolutely beautiful here! What more can a wedding photographer ask for?!
What sets me apart from the wedding photographers in Langley is that I like to use dramatic lighting which makes my images really pop and become 3-dimensional. My photography style can often be described as vivid, candid and compelling. My goal at every wedding is to tell a story in the most genuine way. I want my couples to look at their wedding album and remember these moments as raw. My clients always put full trust in me and are confident that I will document their day to my best ability. The wedding pictures on my website reflect what you will receive in your wedding gallery.
I've been photographing weddings all over British Columbia for 6 years and counting. I've worked with close to 100 brides and grooms and still get excited about every single love story. What's your story? Shoot me a message, I'd love to hear all about it!
Weddings at the Rowena's Inn on the River are seriously breathtaking.
I don't know what will make you fall in love with this Harrison Mills wedding venue more, the wedding experience that they offer or your stay. They have a huge pool overlooking the Harrison River where you can choose to get married by. The best part about this venue is the fact that it's a one stop deal. You can get ready, have your ceremony & reception and do all of your bride and groom photos right on property. This is a huge factor when it comes to a smooth wedding day timeline.
If you are planning a wedding at the Rowena's Inn on the River at the SandPiper Resort, I would love to be there to document your day for you. Feel free to Contact me. I would absolute love to hear what you have planned!
Burnaby Mountain Centennial Rose Garden is such a lovely wedding venue. It is a gorgeous place to take portrait photos of the bride, groom, bridal party and family formals. They do a really nice ceremony set up with the roses in the background. To make things easy on the wedding guests, a reception can be held at the SFU Diamond Alumni Centre.
This particular wedding of Erin and Matt was on a rainy Vancouver day. The bride and groom were prepared and brought clear umbrellas for themselves and their bridal party. I always suggest to my clients to do this because clear umbrellas don't take away from the colours of the rest of the scene and they allow light to shine through, which is a big deal for a wedding photographer! You can see the rain didn't stop the happily married couple from laughing.
After their rose garden ceremony in Burnaby, we all headed to the Golden Eagle Golf Club in Pitt Meadows for dinner, speeches and dancing. The Golden Eagle Golf Club provided a spectacular meal, with fresh ingredients and lots of flavour. The venue had a gorgeous indoor reception space with a ton of windows and light. The outdoor reception option is also stunning, featuring a lovely platform overlooking a mountainous backdrop.
The Golden Eagle Golf Club is located in Pitt Meadows. Phone #(604) 460-1111 Website https://goldeneaglegolfclub.com/weddingsbanquets.html

Choosing a great getting ready location can almost be as important as choosing a ceremony location. Clean, minimal and spacious rooms are recommended. Just imagine a bunch of girls getting ready in a small space together.. things can get pretty crowded, hot and messy! I also don't require the room to be brightly lit, I just ask that there is at least one large window. It might be hard to do, but try your best to select a room for the groom and groomsmen that meet these requirements as well.
The first thing I do before taking any photos of the bride and groom getting ready is I take away any sort of clutter that will be distracting. I want to keep the focus on the people and not so much the hair straighteners, food platters or beer bottles. The second thing I do is make sure hair and makeup is set up in an ideal spot with some quality window light.
This photograph was taken at an ideal getting ready location. The light was gorgeous, the room had space to move around and the decor wasn't overwhelming.

As a wedding photographer based in Langley it's a bonus when work is just around the corner! The Estate 248 Venue is located in Aldergrove, set amongst some beautiful views of the Poppy Estate Golf Course. The ceremony site features giant old trees and a rustic setting with barns to use as a photo backdrop. Receptions take place under a tent so you'll be kept dry in the rain and cool in the sun!
Weddings at the Fraser River Lodge in Aggasiz are unlike any other. This privately owned resort boasts spectacular views of the mountains and the best part is that the lodge reserves the entire venue for their bride and groom so there will be nobody else on property who isn't invited to the wedding.
There are four wedding ceremony options:
All of these options but the deck holds up to 200 guests. The deck holds up to 100.
There are three wedding reception options:
All of these options hold 200 guests but the Lounge holds 400.
